Deleting your data

CHAIR SOFTWARE LTD(“CHAIR”) gives you full control over the data we hold. This page explains how to delete it, including any data brought in when you connect your Instagram account to your CHAIR booking page.

Remove your connected Instagram data

If you connected Instagram so your recent posts show on your public booking page, you can remove that connection at any time. It takes effect immediately:

  1. Sign in to your professional dashboard at professionals.getchair.co.uk.
  2. Go to My Page and find the Instagram card.
  3. Tap Disconnect.

Disconnecting deletes the access token we stored and removes every cached Instagram post from our database, so nothing from your Instagram continues to appear on your page. You can also revoke CHAIR’s access from Instagram directly, under Settings → Apps and websites → Business tools, and we delete the same data when Instagram notifies us that access was removed.

Delete your whole CHAIR account

To delete your account and your personal data, you can either:

Some records are kept, in a form that no longer identifies you. Your past bookings stay on the professional’s sales ledger with your name and contact details removed, because we are required to keep business and tax records for six years. Reviews you left stay published with the authorship removed. Where a payment is disputed, we keep what we need until the dispute closes.

  • Use the in-app option in the CHAIR customer app: Profile → Account Information → Delete account, or
  • In the CHAIR for Professionals app: Profile → Settings → Delete account, or
  • Email us at support@getchair.co.ukfrom the address on your account with the subject “Delete my data”.

What we delete, and when

When you disconnect Instagram, the stored token and cached posts are deleted straight away. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep certain records (for example, transaction records retained for HMRC for 6 years).
